"Before being nominated for the SOWW Maine hunt, I have been in a state of depression with marital issues, physical injuries, and the inability to turn off my mind and get a good night sleep. The hunting trip was one of the most relaxing experiences I've ever had. I felt like, for the first time in probably 8 years, I slept. All SOWW personnel were very receptive as to listening to my personnel demons and offering extended help in the future. The family that owns the lodge make you feel at home in every way. The hunt itself was an incredible experience that I will never forget. After returning home I was afraid that my old routine would return and my depression along with it. I was pleasantly surprised when I awoke that first Monday with a smile on my face and joy in my heart. The services provided in this experience go far beyond the hunt. I am forever grateful for this experience."

"I'll start off first by saying thank you, well planned and executed event. It means a lot when the venue is hosted by someone that truly wants to participate and give, rather than look for something in return. I have no doubt that that encounter has established a life long friendship. I would be more than honored to participate again in the future, this event or others. Its hard to say what I got from the week, I will say it was a great setting in that I was comfortable enough to open up some to folks I felt as non-judgmental and possessing much common ground. being in familiar company and knowing the guy to your left and right have dealt with similar issues makes it much easier to be open and possibly look for answers to "un-askable questions". That being said, I also liked being there in a listening roll as well, being able to encourage my brothers to seek out help and not hide from potentially fixable scenarios. It was truly an awesome, therapeutic, and fun experience! Thank You, SOWW!"

"My family and I would like to thank you for the weekend you provided us. I assume you know it was a nice gesture however it was more than you could possibly imagine. It has been 4 weeks now since my wife was diagnosed with stage 3 breast cancer at the early age of 30. Now that the initial shock is over, we are concentrating on crushing this as a family and coming out stronger on the other end. This is the second time you (SOWW) has shown support for my family. Two years ago I was invited to "takin bacon" however it was days before a deployment and I wanted to spend it with my family. Not only did you invite them down but you provided lodging and a vehicle. Thank you so much for your support to the community and all that you and SOWW are doing for warriors all around."

"Just wanted to send you a note about the great time I had "hunting hogs" and spending time with other guys who have been hurt and connecting with others who share a similar passion for hunting and the outdoors. Hunting is such a huge part of my life, that to me it was an instrumental part of my healing process when i got hurt in 2005. To go out with GREAT AMERICANS and share a day hunting forgetting about the long day of physical therapy or what happened down range was awesome. It helped me relax and get ready to go face my day tomorrow. "Man I was excited to get a call from Brian to attend the Redfishing Trip 25-28 June. When I arrived at the Plantation everyone was so friendly. The support that went into the event was top notch. The SOWW personnel were willing to assist with anything any of the six wounded warriors needed. It was great to meet all the SOWW folks and other warriors. I can’t remember a time that I laughed so much and just was able to relax. I fished with what I would say was the best crew and boat there. I’m sure everyone else would say the same about their boats and crew. Doc and his mate Vern were great guides and showed us an unbelievable experience. Even though the weather moved in the last day of fishing everyone enjoyed themselves. SOWW thank you for a fantastic event! Hats off to Dave Floyd for overseeing this event and bringing some great guides to assist! I’m sure anyone attending future events will be able to relax, make lasting memories, and enjoy themselves!"
